Hathersage
Maple Holiday Cottage is located in the heart of Hathersage in the Hope Valley, Derbyshire - a former centre of importance for the manufacture of pins, needles and millstones.
The grave of Robin Hood's comrade, Little John, can be found at the church of St Michael, while other nearby points of associated interest are Robin Hood's Cave, Well and Stoop.
The village is said to feature in the works of Charlotte Bronte and North Lees Hall is thought to have been the model for Thornfield Hall in Jane Eyre.
Our stunning outdoor swimming pool, which is open and heated during selected months, is a popular draw for locals and tourists alike.

For breakfast and lunch we recommend dining at Cintra's Tea Rooms on the main road in the village, which is also owned by your hosts! For good quality pub food in the evening wander up to The Scotsman's Pack Country Inn on School Lane.
Country Houses

Hathersage is a short drive or bus ride away from Chatsworth House (10 minutes), which is open to paying visitors for tours.
They also have a popular animal farm and playground for children and beautiful gardens and acres of woodland pathways to explore.
Regular events take place at the House, including the annual RHS Chatsworth Flower Show, Chatsworth Country Fair and Chatsworth Horse Trails. Details of these and may other events can be found on their website.
Haddon Hall (10 minutes) has been described as “the most perfect house to survive from the middle ages”.
Parts of the house date from the 12th Century, sitting like a jewel in its Elizabethan terraced gardens, and overlooking the River Wye.

Both Chatsworth and Haddon have been used as filming locations.
